Generally the centrifugal pump has the characteristic that pump motor power is directly proportional to the increase of flow rate. On the other hand the axial flow pump shows the characteristic that pump has the maximum required power at shut-off condition and then the pump power is continuously dropped inversely proportional to the increase of flow rate. Therefore the axial pumps in parallel operation sometimes have a trouble at low operation range if motor power is not sufficient. Herewith an actual example is used for the study of axial pump characteristic in parallel operation. For example, occasionally one pump is stopped during four pumps parallel operation immediately after the fourth pump start-up. The Fortran program is used for a simulation of the four axial pumps parallel operation system and the solutions for the adjusting parameters are obtained.
