For hydrophilic polymer film deposited on the aluminum sheet by plasma treatment, the method to evaluate surface performance such as interfacial bonding energy, wettability and wetting durability, by means of adhesion force measurement was experimentally investigated. The results showed that in spite of sample's good wettability, the sample after poor treatment with low interfacial bonding energy could be distinguished from the sample after perfect treatment by employing the adhesion test. Good wettability was concerned with strengthening of adhesion force and wetting durability was related to decrease ratio of adhesion force. Based on an experimental data, the new criteria to evaluate surface performance of plasma hydrophilic aluminum sheet was proposed.
