The purpose of this study is to propose the convection heat transfer coefficient of an Ondol-heated room. In order to evaluate the convection heat transfer characteristics, surface temperatures and nearby temperatures of each internal surface of walls, floor and ceiling of the heating room are measured vertically and horizontally in two Ondol-heated chambers.
And, as for the measurement, the vertical temperature profiles could be expressed by nonlinear equation models. Also, the convection heat transfer phenomena are analyzed from the nonlinear equations, and the convection heat-transfer coefficients of Ondol-heated space are suggested in the form of temperature difference between each wall surface and room air, and in the correlation between Nusselt number and Rayleigh number.
