In this article, I surveyed the digitalization of the documents and records in ASEAN+3(Korea, China, Japan) being registered in the Memory of the World Programme of UNESCO, the Documentary Heritage of Humanity. With the authenticity of the documents which guarantees the reliable use of materials, it might be inevitable to give users the intellectual aids to understand the materials, 'description'. In doing so, we will be able to establish the basic condition to access the our own memory.
In addition to intellectual approach, it is important to protect the deterioration of the documents physically. The digitalization of the documents will gave us a method to repair the documents in their original forms, chances to communicate experiences of our colleagues in this area.
As a result, two aspects, the accessability and preservation, are emphasized in the digitalization of the documents. As a model we can take, I suggest the Clearing-House of ECAI(Electronic Cultural Atlas Initiative) for co-operation and co-working of ASEAN+3's archival society.
