Great interest on the importance of understanding financial management of architect's firm in college education has been aroused among the architects in the country. The reason is that most firms have suffered financial difficulties since IMF, and have realized some problems of their financial management systems. It results in their demand to ask their staff to have even managerial attitude as well as design or engineering competence. It is time to include a course of 'professional practice' in our curriculum for 5 year undergraduate programs or professional graduate schools, and need some educational information for financial management systems of design firms, as part of the course.
This research is for emphasizing the importance of education regarding the financial systems of design firms, accumulating educational data from the country's design firms so as to be used for a course of 'professional practice,' and finally helping the goals of architectural firms, creating good architecture and making profits, successfully accomplished.
