PERD is constructed on the top of C-prolog running on the VAXII/780 UNIX to demonstrate an enforced DBMS, compared with conventional DBMS, specially in the semantic view and to apply the new concepts toward knowledge base management system.
Various semantic rules can be base management system. the similarity in logic between the rules and prolog. But prolog has weak point to access the external data. To solve this problem, the functions of internal level are accomplished via the interaction with the corresponding routines of INGRES, the available DBMS in UNIX.
