Durability test is that complete vehicles endures various load in severe and different field driving condition. The test engineers come up to customer's expectations of vehicle durability performance and function through this test. The durability test of complete vehicles is classified according to proving ground. First, accelerated durability test using Belgian and Pothole road verify the structural defect of body structure and the performance change of chassis parts. Second, Cross country road constructed as paved road, broken concrete road, rough road, slalom etc verify the global quality of vehicle. Third, Road simulation test using road simulator has the same target as accelerated durability test. These three test is difficult full vehicle adjusting the damage at a same rate to respective the sub system. Eg. Body, Chassis, Mounting system, etc. So, It is hard to correlate a proving ground between customer field condition.
This development use process as deletion of non-damage road, scaling and compressing of road profile in a same damage rate for shortening test period and the method of selection of standard field road. The good reliability of the road simulator could perform durability test and develop the customer usage standard road profile. This field road simulation test during 4 months guarantees durability for 7 years 700,000㎞ in field driving condition. Accurate field correlation and optimum vehicle design is possible through this test and local test is possible instead of export area test.
