In the research, second generation of Korean American is likely to show the sharply contrast dual aspects of feeling on their ethnicity ; shameness and pride. Majority of them are experiencing the complex of ethnic identity when they feel they ate marginalized as a minority. Some of them have, however, attempted to provoke the Korean ethnic identity by showing the 'loose-roots.' They are intentionally and actively accommodating the Korean tradition, for example, language, music, history, dance, food, etc. with strong pride as Korean descendant for the construction of their own subjectivity.
Nevertheless, I argue that their nationalism may have nothing to do with the sentiment directly attached Korean society as it is. Even though they represent the Korean ethnic feeling, they are reluctant to identify themselves with Korean. They have been born in United States and have been socialized by American culture. Accordingly, it is plausible to say that their ethnic nationalism as Korean diaspora is imagined nationalism as Anderson described the nation as 'Imagined Community.' Korean diaspora's nationalism will gradually declined through the generations, but they will not be free from the ethnic conflict as long as they are living in the multi ethnic society. Rather than disappeared, 'imagined nationalism' will contribute to constructing the Korean American's ethnic identity.
