Trends have the strongest power to move people than any kind of ideology. Trends, regardless of being noticed, go into any opening and persuades desire and makes man follow it. Trends are not edified by any logical, rational method, but, through shapes of images it persuades desires that are carved in our senses. Such trends have been affecting our lives from the 1920s and became greater in the 30s. Trends had provided for a model lifestyle to the people of the times, and transfigured people according to its pattern. To understand the literatUre, culture and the inner character of the people, understanding and analyzing such trends are essential because trends were the greatest motive that had transfigured the core of the people. Since the flowering times to the 1930s, the women students led the trends and they were the fashion leaders in the screets propagating such life styles. The trend that was set by these people had, when it became the mass culture of the 30s, spreads through all classes of society. By product advertisements in magazines, newspapers, and also by films, trends and patterns of life were carved through images, and as a result a new public sensibility was created. This public sensibility had much effect in the area of literature. Especially, the latter novels of Lee, Hyo Suk depict the transfiguration of the literature due to the public sensibility of the 1930s. Through his latter works we are able to examine the appearances of the transfiguration of the subjects in which the inner self was eroded through having trends enter in to the lives of the people of the 30s by images that were created by products, advertisements, and mass media.
