This paper considered the floor area characteristics of the school building facilities by the kind of organization of college & department type in the university campus
Data of the year 2004 on the floor area of the school buildings and the number of students were used in this study and these data were collected from 234 university campuses of 190 four-year colleges
The results are as follows
1) The campuses of the subject of investigation are classified into 5 kinds of campus according to the organization of college-department, Integration type, mixed type, Humanities type, Science and Engineering type, Medicine- Fine Arts type
2) Integration type increase 21.72㎡ per the increase of 1 student, mixed type 1661㎡, Humanities type 10.48㎡, science and Engineering type 1978㎡ in the floor area of school building facilities
3) The rate of floor area in school building facilities that meet the requirement of Standard floor area is Just 70%, the result of which shows that a lot of the floor Area of school building facilities is deficient-especially Integration type having a large scale and type is more Insufficient than others- and the requirement of Standard floor area should be fulfilled In the future
4) Generally, the range of difference between Standard floor area and actual holding floor area is large because campuses have various kinds of the organization of college-department
