Historical Novels of Modem korea were remained a moral sense of Confucianism. It is still in the everyday lives of society in modem korea, and represented in korean novels. Historical Novels have been specially prepared for the occasion. In the thesis, I analyze historical novels, Lee kwang- su' s A Pathetic History of Danjong, Park Jong-Hwa's A Story of Expectation for Spring, Kim Dong-In's The Young Men, that reflect enlightenment of national spirit. This works is featured in the narrative code of moral sense of Confucianism. Characters of the works were formed in historical
community and practiced ethical act of convention. In historical novels of Modem korea, one was discovered a distinctive quality that is immanent the form and meaning of confucian order. The consequent popularization of the historical stories is to be counted as the evidence for this situation. As a result of the criticism, narrative discourse of korean historical novels carried on a story of ancient times. Writers of historical novels .hold a deep grudge against colonialism. They possess the nature of enlightenment. In their works which dealt with the world of consciousness of moralistic literature, they represented mainly the contents of cultivating the spirit of national rights. Therefore the historial novels were derived their origin form the will to recovery of the national tradition.
