The impact noise from upper floor especially in Korean On-Dol system causes acoustics problems the downstair neighbors.
This study is the relative comparison for the floor hydronic system and the dry double floor hydronic system through the impact noise experiment. In this study, the impact noise levels of 4 floor structures were measured in the existing house. The test results of the impact insulation performance for the dry double floor hydronic system show good improvement about the light-weight noise and heavy-weight noise before and after installation of the respectively systems.
