National competitiveness in the future depends on its military force and economic power and how its cultural resources are developed and preserved as well. However, we have been neglect in the cultural issue by considering the political and economic development as the top priority, so we lost traditional culture and lots of modem cultural heritages to become the important national competitiveness. Modem cultural heritages have been quickly lost for the emotional correspondence against
the vestiges of Japanese imperial rule. In this regard, we intend to secure the foundation required for the establishment of meaning and value of modem architectures in Daejeon in terms of preservation of history of modern architecture in Korea and cultural heritage by considering the formation and transition of modern architectures in Daejeon based on the importance of modem cultural heritages, which have been disregarded, in this study.
