This study intended to develop a pleasant future-oriented environment for research and development, achieve the long-term vision of H research institutes, and promote expansion of facilities and improvement in management in respect to increased research personnel. It aimed at planning the joint use of existing facilities and active communication, harmony of functions and structure in which an energy saving plan is reflected. This study also pursued a harmony with surrounding environment by adapting to the change in research environment.
Therefore, the offices and labs were planned as follows: 7.8m × 7.8m, and 7.8m × 11.7m respectively with the proportion of 1 : 1.5 reflected in the module plan. For plane type, middle corridor type layout was used to maintain an organic relation between functions Inner court type combination through which offices and labs were considered as a unit was used. The height was 4.2m and a variety of facilities through utility atrium were provided. Through top light and atrium, natural lighting was introduced to enhance and create pleasant research environment.
