A dual converter has an advantage that can be used as a high power converter which converts ac to dc and dc to ac. But reactive power is generated on the ac side due to rectifier's phase control and circulating current between P and N-converter. Generating more reactive power compared with other rectifier is one of a dual converter' s di sadvantage.
Recently, several schemes for circulating current control in dual converter have been introduced. In this paper, a method to improve the input power factor to unity using this circulating current control is proposed and the feasibility of the scheme is verified with computer simulation.
