2D finite element analysis for the drawbead forming and drawing was carried out. The present study is concerned with the element behavior in bending dominant deformation. In order to investigate the behavior of a 4-node bilinear element and a 9-node quadrilateral element in the tensile mode and in the bending mode, the simple tensile deformation and the transverse shear deformation were analysed. Also, the drawbead forming and drawing was analysed using the two types of elements. The comparison of the computations with the experiments sbows that the 9-node element is more effective than the 4-node element in bending dominant processes.
