Sibling relationship has been recognised to influence people as much as the relationship with parents, partners, and their children. According to the recent trend that the family become to be nuclear, the importance of sibling relationship become larger than the any time else. Especially the infants spends more time with their sibling than with their parents or friends. Infants are placed in the context of extensive and afformative social behavior as well as the experience of conflict resolution.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of birth order and children's sex on the quality of children's interaction. The major findings were that there were the effects of the birth order and the sex of the child on the sibling interaction. The first children initiated interaction affirmatively with their sibling and responsed negatively. Girls initiated with speaking their own opinion or proposing interesting play and responded less negative to the negative initiation than boys.
