This study aims at the division of genre of N.Korean poetry and the characteristics of N.Korean poetry.
N.Korean poetry divide genre into lylic, hymn, elegy, satire, geongronsi(정론시), gyehunsi(교훈시), dansangsi(단상시), punggyungsi(풍경시), chulrisi(철리시),etc. by the meaningful standard.
N.Korean poetry are not isolated the poem from the song and keep the mode of singing poetry for the function of agipro, for example, gasa(가사) hapchangsi(합창시), revolutionary ballads.
Lylic concludes hymn, satire, geonronsi, byugsi(벽시) inclsively and they show the political tendency. N.Korean lylic is used as general concept of poetry.
N.Korean poetry point toward the pure lylic of life and nature remarkbly and diminish the ideological tendency since 1980's.
Epic is the main genre among the N.Korean poetry, because it satifies the need of narrative mode for the anti-Japanese literature and the creation of chieftain image.
