In spite of the significance of connection as a structural
element in the framed steel structure, the reasonable
selection of a connection type is not fulfilled in the
construction field since there's no formulated knowledge of
connection design process and expert's absence. So in this
study, on the basis of the domain knowledge established through
the expert's heuristic knowledge, design connection type in the
general steel structure using the expert system building tool
NEXPERT OBJECT. We then generate the detail drawing program data
file for SHOP with which we obtain the detail drawing of the
connection.
