Web openings allow utility ducts and piping to be placed without
increasing the total building height, reducing both the quantity
of construction material and the total building volume.
An experimental investigation to study composite beams with
reinforced rectangular web opening is presented. Composite beam
with unreinforced rectangular web opening and five composite beams
reinforced rectangular web opening were tested.
As a result, it was found that reinforced specimens had changed
strength and deformation respectively.
