The purpose herein is to present a nonlinear method of plane
frame analysis, based on large deformation theory, applicable to
both elastic and inelastic solutions of plane frame problems. A
geometrically nonlinear formulation including not only initial
stress matrix but initial displacement matrix for the analysis
of plane frames has been presented By using 'fiber model',
material nonlinear formulation has been presented.
The analysis includes the effects of strain hardening gradual
penetration of yield through the cross section and the spread of
inelastic zones along the member lengths. The solution capabilities
has been illustrated by solving 3-story plane frame.
