This paper is a study on the optimum design of doublv
reinforced Slab-Band Floor by Ultimate Strength Design
Method. A forumulation is presented a design
problem for the effective depth and steel ratio of Slab,
Band and Marginal girder, respectively.
This problem can also be solved using the Lagrange
multipliers method and formulas to obtain an optimum
steel ratio and on optimum efective depth are proposed.
An objective function of this problem is evaluated by
summing the costs of concrete, steel and form to obtain
the total cost of Slab-Band Floor of unit area
The constraints is consiedred as well as the ultimate
bending moment, minimum depth, minimum steel ratio and
maximum steel ratio.
