If the compression jone of a reinforced concrete
member is confined with closely spaced lateral
reinforcement, the strength capacity and the ductility
of the concrete may be greatly improved.
In this paper, the increase ratio of the strength
capacity and ductility is compared confined concrete
member with closed stirrup to unconfined member.
As a result of the compare, it is known that the
effects of closd stirrup are more increased to high
strength concrete and large deformation.
