The purpose of this study was to evaluate the energy saving effect of a high-insulation lightweight envelop system through computer simulation. Before this study, we developed high-insulation lightweight envelop systems to save energy consumption. In this study, high-insulation lightweight envelop systems and other standard envelop systems were simulated by computer in order to determine the real effect of energy saving. First, as an example, one building was choosed, and the necessary energy of year-round was calculated about each envelop systems. Next, it was decided which envelop systems were more economic to maintain building. The results of this study were as follow; the energy consumption of cooling load was almost same among developed high-insulation lightweight envelop systems and standard envelop systems, but the energy consumption of heating load was more benefit in developed high-insulation lightweight envelop systems than in standard envelop systems.
