This study is concerned with the changes of Museum Buildings
through periodic and national comparison. On 23 museum projects
from west Europe, United States, Japan and Korea from 1900 to
1980, a comparative study was done, focusing on Plan, Section,
Lighting, and Elevation. According to the changes of Plan,
Section, Lighting and Elevation of the museums, the forms of
museum buildings go through the three period, and there is the
charecteristic of timelag among nations. In this respect, there
is an absence of the second period in museums of Korea, and the
forms of the thrid period can be noted as the new one.
