This dissertation is about how to take the needs of
users into consideration. With the needs of users
regarded as human behaviors, I have tried to find the
appropriate research method to investigate the human
behavior in architecture.
The cues to arrive at this research method are that, in
order to examine the human behavior in architecture,
the concept of territoriality and privacy is used to
arrange the situation between human beings and space,
and that the function of a building is considered in
relation with the spatial behavior.
By means of applying this to the elderly home, I proved
the validity of this research method.
And I proposed the design criteria for the elderly home
from the point of view of the aged behavior.
